"The electricity consumption of the Bitcoin network is 14 Gigawatts per hour. Electricity generated from associated gas, burned hourly by oilmen, can generate 18,027 Terawatts, which is 1287 times more than all Bitcoin mining farms consume. Right now, a mining project called EZ Blockchain, in partnership with Texas-based oil and gas service provider Silver Energy, is successfully monetizing wasted natural gas with Bitcoin mining while reducing greenhouse gas emissions."
